John David COOK

1937 - 2023

Passed away at Heritage House in St. Jacobs on January 15, 2023 in his 86th year. John was born July 26, 1937 to the late Milton and Lavina Cook (Helm). John was married to Marian Arnal-Cook. He leaves behind his children David (Shelley), Kevin (Donna) and Kimberley Naugler (Glenn); his grandchildren Scott Cook (Jessica), Jenna Cook, Chris Cook (Alyshia), Kyle Cook (Lindsay), Sara Naugler (Patrick) and Dustin Naugler (Jessica); and great-grandchildren Owen, Jayda, Marshall, Whitney, Caitlyn, Charlotte, Kellan, Brayden, Liam, Rowen, Mya and Piper. Also missed by Marian's two sons Bill and Brad and granddaughter Amanda. John is survived by his sisters Elizabeth Forwell, Joan Wallace and Lynn Cogley (John). He is predeceased by his sister Shirley Sparrow and brother in laws Russ Sparrow, Ken Forwell and Sid Wallace. Dad spent his whole career as a Heavy Equipment Operator with George Dietrich, Seegmillers, Kieswetters and finally retiring from The Region of Waterloo. He took a lot of pride in having an integral part of the construction of many local roads as well as the sports fields at Bluevale Collegiate and Conestoga College Doon. His wonderful sense of humour will be sadly missed but fondly remembered. As per Dad's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
