My first job was with J.Gerth Custom Toolage and I have a lot of great memories from my time there. John’s drive to always give 100% in everything he did whether work or play with some thing I admired and always will. I have not forgotten the life and work lessons he taught me it was a privilege to know him. My heartfelt condolences to Linda,Chad,Trevor and family. John Will be greatly missed.

Dear Linda & family. I only got to know you and John last month for 4-5 during my stay in the hospital. I was touched by his love and respect for others (nurses) and especially for his "rock" Linda. My sincere condolences for your loss. May God comfort you and heal you during this difficult time. Thoughts and prayers go out to your family and friends.

Sending my Love and Condolences to you Linda and your and Johns Children and Grandchildren along with Johns Brothers Gary, Dougie and Sister Barb and their Families (my cousins) and your close Friends. Johnny (as I'm more used to calling him) was such a wonderful person inside and out. Always beaming with love and happiness along with kind words to everyone. Growing up and even now when I hear the name Johnny I think of Linda as you two were inseparable and Johnny and Linda were like one name to me. You both are very special cousins and my heart is breaking for you Linda. Johnny was always so special in my eyes as I know he was to my whole Family. May God comfort you all and give you strength during this extremely hard time. Sending Prayers and Love Always, your Cousin Karen xoxo

Dear Linda and family,
I am so sad to hear of your loss.
Linda, of all my cousins, you smile the most, and I am sure these are difficult times but you will always smile at your wonderful memories of a very remarkable man.
I want to say how much my father admired John. Both entrepreneurs at heart, but most importantly loving fathers.
I have always admired your family. (Chad, I miss you).
Great kids all around. I miss Aunt Lorraine and Uncle Bill. And our times at the cottage.
As for John, our only hope in the family for an NFL career.....a big, strong, gentle man. I admired you John, in many ways. God bless you.
Love,
Chris.

I still remember meeting John the first time, playing with Deanna at their home as a young girl. I was admiring, in awe, of their beautiful wall of aquariums, when John from behind the tanks let out a roar scaring me! John had a way of filling a room, making everyone feel special and missed. Doling out his incredible hugs ( such a good squeeze that my back would crack sometimes!), always had a beaming smile and smelled so good! ( Linda's talents for picking out delicious colognes) His wonderful ways will be missed by so many.
Sending love & huge "John Hugs"to my Gerth Family,
Kim
