Julia OFNER Obituary
Passed away peacefully at the Woodstock Hospital on Friday, September 23, 2022. Julia Ofner of RR#3 Bright in her 99th year.
Beloved wife of the late Friedrich "Fritz" who predeceased her May 9, 2020. Loving mother of Stephen & wife Tammy of St. Clements and Nicki & wife Denise of Kitchener. Remembered by her devoted niece Patti Tusch of Waterloo. Sadly missed by her grandchildren Greta, Madison, Adam and Aaron. Survived by her sister Anne & husband Robert Rice of Toronto.
Predeceased by her parents Jacob & Marie (Solc) Tusch. brother Joseph & Ella Tusch and sister Mary Tusch.
Julia immigrated to Canada from Poland in 1928 and lived in a few places before purchasing the family farm with Fritz in 1964 , continuing to live there for the next 58 years. Julia had an extensive career in both nursing and teaching nursing. Her love of art lead to many awards, scholarships, President of the Arts Society of Kitchener and many other prestigious accomplishments as well as teaching Art for many years. Julia's favourite pastime was playing bridge with family and friends.
Relatives and Friends will be received at the Glendinning Funeral Home, 40 William St. Plattsville on Saturday, October 1, 2022 from 11:30 till 12:45 followed by the funeral service at 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Kitchener-Waterloo Society of Artists (www.kwsa.ca) would be appreciated by the family. Personal condolences can be sent at www.gffh.ca

Julie and my mother, Cathy Milloy, were close friends and active members of the Arts Community in Waterloo Region. I have fond memories of her when I was a boy - her energy, vitality and warm sense of humour. My deepest condolences to her family, especially Nicki who I used to bump into now and again as a grown-up.
