Julie Atthill Obituary

Passed away suddenly at her home on Monday, May 1st at the age of 83. Loving mother of Michele Kramer (Stephen), Denise Atthill (Keith), Paul Atthill, Robert Atthill. Beloved Gramma "G-Ma" of Tonia (Marc), Leanne, Kirstin (David), Alex, Paige, and Ainsley and was a very proud Great Gramma to Kallee, Jack, and Nash. She will be missed by her brothers Mike (Pat) and Richard, who was not only her 'baby bro' but also her best friend. She was predeceased by her brother Robert. She was Aunt Julie to many nieces and nephews on the West Coast, East Coast and in between and she adored her grand-dogs Earl and Otis. Mom had a small group of friends but she loved them dearly and I know she will be missed. Mom is now reunited with the love of her life, her husband Doug. Mom retired from Scotiabank and in retirement, she loved reading her books with a glass of wine, soaking up the sun every chance she got, and also tried to find time to pull out her canvasses and paint. One way to get Mom up and dancing was to put on Neil Diamond which Mom enjoyed at all of our family get togethers. Although Mom was shy by nature, she valued her family above everything and enjoyed all of our family celebrations and time together. Good times never seemed so good. A Funeral Mass will be held at OUR LADY OF LOURDES CHURCH, 173 Lourdes St., Waterloo, Ontario on June 8, 2023 at 10 a.m. Memorial donations in her memory can be made to the CAMH Foundation, 1000 Queen St W, Toronto, ON M6J 1H4.

Mike, Carol and I extend our deepest sympathy to you and Pat on the passing of Julie. While we never knew your sister, if she was anything like her brother she was a wonderful person.

I was VERY young when I met Aunt Julie. My mum took me and some of my siblings up to Kitchener on a family trip. I think I was about 5 or 6, so my memory is a bit faint.

I do remember that she was very generous. She allowed me to have a whole bundle of grapes - all to myself - to eat to heart's content. I LOVED grapes. She must have know it by the smile on my face between breaks from popping them back!

Wish I gave myself the opportunity to have known her more...
