Kate STORM Obituary
After a brief illness, Kate Storm passed away on June 19th at the age of 66.
Kate was born January 10, 1955 to Elizabeth Dietrich (d. 2012) and Michael Storm (d. 1986), the youngest sibling of four and the first to be born in Canada. She is survived by Ericka Schmidt (Robert), Ellie Pamer (Tom), John (Joan) and many nieces and nephews.
Kate was an individual who dedicated her life to helping others, whether as an RPN at Grand River Hospital in Kitchener, or by taking early retirement so she could care for her aging mother in a full-time capacity. She was a devoted member of Westheights Community Church.
The family would like to thank the kind doctors and nurses in ICU at St. Mary's Hospital in Kitchener and in the palliative care unit at Freeport Hospital. They made Kate's last days bearable.
Visitation will be held at Westmount Memorial Celebration Centre (1001 Ottawa St. S. Kitchener) on Wednesday, June 23 from 1:00 - 2:00 pm with a service at 2:00 pm. Interment at Woodland Cemetery. Dear Family, Katie was my colleague in the delivery room at KW. She taught me how to give the best back rubs as she had learned from her brother in law. She used to talk about her visits to Ohio. She was reserved but enjoyed the jokes and antics we had in the ‘70’s working together in highly intense circumstances.
May you remember her all of your days. Peace.
