Our darling and amazing Mother Kathleen Mary Warnholtz (nee Smith) has gone to heaven to be with her beloved mother Margaret Ann Smith (nee Gagan) on Thursday, November 24, 2022 at the age of 98 years. Also predeceasing Kathleen were her father Joseph Marshall Smith and her husband Albert George Warnholtz and her much loved brother Gerald J. Smith, her sister Ethel Forest (nee Smith) and also as children her brother Lloyd Smith and sister Minerva Smith. Kathleen is survived by her daughters Judith Ann Mary Dolson (nee Warnholtz) (Peter McCaslin) and Brenda Louise Carney (nee Warnholtz) and her 3 grandchildren Todd Richard Carney (Cambridge), Tracy Lynn Rachelann Carney (Rob van Doorn) (Dundas), and Amanda Kathleen Dingfeld (nee Dolson) (Eric) (Waterloo) and 1 great granddaughter Kenley Ever Carney - van Doorn (Dundas). Also surviving is sister Delis Monroe (nee Smith) (Noel) (Sault Ste Marie) who Kathleen cared for like a daughter when Delis was going to school in Southern Ontario when she was young. Kathleen is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their children and by niece Esther Wilmot (Pilkington) (Cambridge) who was wonderful company and comfort for Kathleen in her later years. Kathleen was a beautiful and strong and brave woman born in Spanish, ON, on March 16, 1924, who left her much loved home in Blind River, ON, to come to Hespeler as a young woman during WWII to work at Dominion Woollens Factory. She loved her work there producing the large bolts of material and as a Quality Control Inspector, but then she met and married her husband Albert and settled in Hespeler and left her work to raise her 2 daughters and be the most wonderful Mother there ever could be, giving her daughters and grandchildren everything she possibly could. Kathleen worked for a time at Strite Industries and as a Dental Assistant in Hespeler but her main focus was always her family. Kathleen loved to walk, garden, bike and ice skate and often cross-country ski with her daughter Judy. She was an avid reader and an excellent seamstress and knitter making beautiful things over her life-time. Thank you to the many PSW's who have helped and shown Kathleen much kindness over the years. Also Kathleen and her family would like to send a special thank you to her wonderful FP Dr. U. Mehan (Kitchener) for his amazing care of Kathleen over many, many years as his patient. Our hearts are broken losing you Kathleen but we will spend each day remembering you and waiting for our chance to be with you again. We love you more than words can ever say. Kathleen's family will receive family and friends at Lounsbury Funeral Home, 1766 Franklin Blvd., Cambridge on Saturday, December 3rd from 1 pm until the time of the Memorial Service at 2 pm.
