February 27, 1947 - April 10, 2023
After 51 years, her son Michael Hotten will be waiting for her with open arms in heaven. Kathryn will be leaving behind her husband Richard Hotten of 56 years, Daughter Cheryl Hotten (Earl), Cindy Suljak (David) and Son Steven Hotten, and her Grandchildren Kaitlyn, Ryan, Sara, Devonne, Owen and Kayla. We can't forget Angie who has been a part of mom's life and doing her hair for 45 years. Angie, thank you for everything you have done for mom and our entire family. Kathryn passed away peacefully on April 10, 2023, at People Care AR Goudie, at the age of 76. Diagnosed with Logopenic progressive aphasia 6 years ago and progressed fast over the last two years. Kathryn was the biggest cheerleader to her children and her grandchildren. She attended and supported all of their hockey, ringette, soccer, dance and school events, as long as she could. She was an amazing person who always had a smile on her face for anyone. It brightened many of our days over the last couple years to see that big smile right until the end. She had baby dolls in the home with her and she took care of them and treated them like she took care of all of us. She truly was an amazing mother/wife/grandma and did everything for all of us even as we got older. She lived her life taking care of everyone else. Thank you to everyone at AR Goudie for their help and support you provided our mom/wife and family. Thanks to Kristi at the LHIN for helping navigate our family through the tough transition. Kathryn's family will receive relatives and friends from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 13, 2023, and from 12:00 p.m. - 12:45 p.m., on Friday, April 14, 2023, at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Funeral Service in the chapel, on Friday at 1:00 p.m. Reception to follow. Interment will be held at Woodland Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sick Kids and would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
