My much belated condolences to the Srivastava Family. I spent a year with KDS, Gladys and the twins Pal and Shil, at their home in Didcot, in 1962/63 as a nineteen year old, doing A Levels at Oxford Tech. I needed some tough love and some discipline to help me focus on my studies.
I too came to Canada eventually in 1972, and eventually moved to Vancouver, had a family, started a business and have been retired, since age 75, am 82 now, and deeply regret not reaching out and attempting to connect with KD and Gladys, and relive some of those Didcot memories.
Gladys was a great conversationalist and would have loved to have chatted with her about those days.
They gave me a solid home life and stability which allowed me to pass my A levels and eventually go to University, for which I´m eternally grateful.
Of course, I´ve never met nor did I even know of Mohan, Anila and Aruna, but I too am living in West Van now and would love to make contact with them and recount some of my memories of KD, Gladys and the twins.
Deeply sorry for your losses, once again.
I´m not much of an internet guy, so not on all the apps, ie Facebook, Instagram etc, but would welcome meeting them whenever it´s convenient.
My details as follows,
Jai Jadhav,

I will always remember Professor KD as a wonderful person who stood side by side our very own Professor Kenneth Julien during the birth of the University of Trinidad and Tobago. Professor KD was a great man - a man of integrity who held a wealth of knowledge. His ability to communicate in a soft, respectful and caring manner with all persons was absolutely amazing. His jokes were artful, hilarious and unexpected, and often caught one off-guard. Condolences go out to his family and loved ones and may his soul rest in eternal peace.

Working with Professor Srivastava to transition the Teachers Colleges into the University of Trinidad and Tobago was one of the most significant experiences in my career, but more importantly, in the possible transformative opportunities for the development of teacher education in Trinidad and Tobago and the English speaking Caribbean.
He ensured that the platform for inclusive participation was guaranteed.
He respected the contribution of all.
We honor him for his humble but deeply philosophical contribution to Trinidad and Tobago.

Professor KD as we lovingly and respectfully referred to him at the University of Trinidad and Tobago, was such a gentle person. He was a brilliant man full of knowledge which he willingly shared. He had a natural care and understanding for persons in all walks of life. He took time to listen to everyone and gave good advice. To learn of his passing today is very sad. I wish his entire family all the best - he has left a great legacy and great great memories, treasure them, and when you remember them smile....May God Bless you all.
