Kim BAUER Obituary

Passed away unexpectedly, at his family home, on Monday, June 13, 2022, at the age of 70 years. Beloved husband of 42 years to Jane Hatton-Bauer, loving father of Brooke Bauer (Charles Bendaly) and Paige Bauer, and proud papa of Hunter Charles Bendaly. Son of Janet Bauer and the late Donald Bauer, brother of Carrie Bauer (Wayne Strome), Joan Levan (Bill Levan), and Jason Bauer (Kimberly Bauer), he will be remembered fondly by his many nieces and nephews. Kim demonstrated his athletic ability and love of sports at an early age, playing university and Junior B Hockey and then enjoying a passion for golf that lasted throughout his adult years. Following in the footsteps of his grandfather, the founder of The Bauer Skate Company, Kim turned his passion for sports into a lifelong career. His company Tournament Sports Marketing Inc. (Jackson Ultima Skates) was his driving passion and legacy. He built a global business over 36 years and proudly sold his business to CCM in 2021. Recently diagnosed with cancer, we would like to thank the Grand River Regional Cancer Program staff. Special thanks to Dr. Ahmed Jakda, Dr. Joda Kuk, Dr. Fareeha Qayyum and nursing friends Donna Van Allen and Ann Phillips for the support and care we received in the last few weeks of Kim's life. Kim's family will receive relatives and friends at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467 on Sunday, June 19th from 5-8 p.m. and Monday, June 20th from 5-8 p.m. A service to celebrate Kim will be held in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. with a reception to follow. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Grand River Hospital Foun-dation - Cancer Centre would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).

Jane, Brooke and Paige, I am so very sorry for the loss of your amazing dad. I will always remember Kim quietly surveying the scene at the cottage while his girls and their friends stole the show with a lot of loud chatter, only interrupted every so often by a one liner from Kim that would crack us all up. His loss leaves a hole for you all that will be tough to fill. He was one of a kind. Sending you all love. Katie Rice

my sincerest condolences to Kims' family in his passing. I knew Kim from a business friendship as we often conversed at golf shows. He truly was a very gentle man in every respect of the word and I admired his business accumen. I would like to say that I was instrumental in his appointment to Susan Summers as a business manager for Tournament Sports.
