With a full moon to guide him, Lew passed away peacefully in his 91st year on Wednesday, January 27, 2021. Lew's passing was due to congestive heart failure and Parkinson's Disease. Long time life and mixed doubles partner of Joan for 66 years, loving husband and proud Father, Father-in-Law, Brother-in-Law, Uncle, Grandfather and Great Grandfather. Survived by his children Tim (Sheila), Dave (Arlene), Jan (Dan), Sue (Mike), Cathy and Lesley, Grandfather of Holly, Julie (Dragan), Mark (Zharen), Luke (Paige), John, David, Margaret, Michelle (Greg) and Emily (Ethan), and Great Grandfather of Ben, Leah, Luka and Aleks. Pre-deceased by his parents Eli and Persa, sister Olga (Harold), brother Len (Millie) and daughter-in-law Lesley. Beloved uncle to his nephews and nieces; Michael, Patricia, Barbara, Kathy and Danny. Lew retired in 1989 after 40 years of service in the food industry, the last 29 of which were as a senior executive at J.M. Schneider Inc. during its growth from a local to a nationally known company, followed by several years as a consultant to M&M Meats (Food Markets). He also served the community as a YMCA Y's man, Panpolitae Club, and later Probus Club. Lew shared his love of music with his daughter Sue, as members of the Music Alive community choir. He was a sixty-five year member of the Waterloo Tennis Club where he met Joan. Lew and Joan also enjoyed many years together with the family creating happy memories at the family cottage in Muskoka. We wish to thank all of his health care providers, LHIN and personal care workers for maintaining his care and quality of life. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to the London Health Sciences Foundation-University Hospital, Southlake Regional Health Centre Foundation (Newmarket) - where Lew received life-saving cardiac care, or the South Muskoka Hospital Foundation (Bracebridge) (cards available at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 519-749-8467).
