Maria MARTIN Obituary
Passed away peacefully at Grand River Hospital on August 7, 2022 in her 94th year. Loving wife to Oscar Martin (deceased) for 70 years. Beloved mother to Terry (Noreen) Martin of Suisun, California, and Kim Martin of Southampton, Ontario. Adored "Mama" to Trevor (Dale), Steven (Cris), Theresa (Manuel), Sean (Pam), Lee (Natalie), and Kara. Great-Grandma to Elias, Jayden, Penelope, Abigail, Zoe, Edith, and Averie-Lynn.
Marie is predeceased by her parents Robert and Theresa (nee Schneider) Gutheinz. She was a past employee of Mutual Life and Electrohome, where she worked with distinction for over two decades. She was an avid bowler, gardener, reader, and cook. She hosted countless birthdays and holidays, keeping the bonds of her family strong for generations.
Visitation will take place at Westmount Memorial Celebration Centre (1001 Ottawa St. S, Kitchener) on Friday, August 12, 2022 from 1230-130pm, followed by a funeral service at 130pm. Internment will take place at 2pm, followed by a reception at 3pm. Donations in memory of Marie may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
