Miriam ELLIS Obituary

1942 - 2023

Miriam Lavina Edith (Schiedel) Ellis passed away peacefully on April 24, 2023, with her loving family by her side, after a sudden, unexpected illness. Miriam is survived by her loving husband, Albert, brothers Wayne (Ruth), James (Lynne) and John (Sandra) Schiedel and sister-in-law Betty Schiedel. Predeceased by parents Harold and Edna Schiedel and brother Paul.

Miriam was an affectionate, caring and supportive mother who offered unconditional love to her daughters Sonia Ryan (Patrick) and Debra Ryan (Paul). Doting grandmother to Brontee, Megan, Chloe, Dalton and Natalie Ryan.

Miriam was raised in the village of Doon, Ontario, Canada and was married for 59 years to Albert Ellis of Stayner, Ontario. After their marriage they moved to Corona California where they lived for 29 years, and then to Vista California after their grandchildren were born.

Out of High School, Miriam worked at Cluett & Peabody in Kitchener. The women she worked with became lifelong friends. In Corona, Miriam spent 25 rewarding years working as an office manager for Doctor Mellor, with whom the entire staff was like family. Once retired, she played a significant role in raising her five grandchildren with energy and enthusiasm.

Friendly and warm, most people felt as though they had known her all their life. Miriam was actively involved in every community where she lived, often visiting and bringing meals to those in need. She participated significantly in her church, helping in the children's ministry while being a part of various Bible study groups. Always befriending those around her, Miriam was a great listener, often offering a helping hand whenever possible. Her greatest act of love was the compassion and care she gave to her family daily.

Miriam's memorial and celebration of life will be held at North Coast Church, Vista, California on July 15th, 2023, where she attended regularly for 27 years. As an expression of sympathy, donations to www.elcaminokids.org would be appreciated by the family. El Camino is the family's 45 yearlong ministry throughout Mexico ad Peru.
