McGOUGH, Peter James Jr. ""Bud"" Today December 27, 2016 we said goodbye for a while to our dearly loved husband, father, grandfather and great Papa who gave us all such a happy life. Peter James McGough Jr. born September 15, 1926 to Peter and Helen (nee Marley) McGough of Wilkes-Barre Pa. and later Toronto. Beloved husband of Diane (nee Megaffin) for 62 years. Loving father of Peter III (Heidi), Paul, and Diane (Rae). Proud Papa to Meghan (Shane), James (Jorunn), Lindsay (Rick), Christopher (Sandra), Katie (Brian), Adam (Vicky), Jake, Samantha, Brendan (Andrea) and Kathleen. Great-Papa of Hunter, Alexis, Mila, Marlowe, Cecily, Marcus, Nicholas, Olivia, Hallie, Carter, William and Charlie. Dear brother of Sandra (late Hugh) Kirby and the late Helen McGough. At 18 years of age Peter joined the American Army during WWII and taught marksmanship to older soldiers. He was very proud of his service at that time. In his motorhome he took us on adventures to explore Canada and the U.S. from coast to coast. We were given many happy memories. Peter had distinguished careers with Planters Peanuts and Smiles 'n Chuckles prior to serving as senior consultant with the Ontario Ministry and Trade. He was involved in the start-up of many prominent companies in southern Ontario area, especially Kitchener-Waterloo. Our lives are so much richer for having Peter in them. Peter's family will receive relatives and friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Friday, December 30, 2016 and from 12-12:45 p.m. on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home , 507 Frederick St., Kitchener (519) 749-8467.
