Pete passed away at his home in Kettle Point on December 17, 2021, at the age of 66. He leaves behind his beloved son, Peter Mitic Jr. (Tammy Salway) of Kitchener. Pete is survived by his brother, Hemi Mitic of Brampton, and was predeceased by his brother Bob of Kitchener, in 2011. He will be missed by his former spouse, Sandra Hessler-Mitic also of Kitchener. Pete was always a passionate golfer and car enthusiast. He would play as many courses as he could every summer and spent many hours over the years visiting race tracks (sometimes multiple in a day). The time spent restoring the '55 Chevy with his son, Jr., will never be forgotten. He worked in the automotive industry with companies BF Goodrich, Dunbar, Budds and Lear before his retirement from Chrysler. Pete was a proud member of CAW-Canada and held many leadership roles in the industry through the years.
Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held at Woodland Cemetery, Kitchener, at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 15, 2022. A Celebration of Pete's life will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the CMHA - Waterloo Wellington or Renascent: Toronto Addiction Rehab Centre would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
