Reginald RANTON Obituary

It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of our husband, dad, Poppa and friend, Reginald Park Ranton at Freeport Hospital on Friday May 13th at the age of 87. Reg will be remembered for his kind, gentle and loving soul. He was a true gentleman that always had a big smile when he greeted you. He loved watching sports especially when his grandsons were involved. He relished the 67 years (63 of them as husband and wife) that he had with the love of his life, Betty. Together, they modelled what love, devotion and commitment meant and it truly impacted their children, Doug and Julie, in their personal relationships and the importance of helping others feel valued. Survived by his loving wife Betty (Ische), daughter Julie Lobsinger (Lisa), son Doug Ranton (Sandra). Poppa of grandson Trevor Ranton (Jaclyn) and the late Jacob Ranton. Also survived by sister-in Jean St. Clair, a loving extended family, and many cherished friends. Predeceased by parents Marietta and Reginald Ranton, sisters Lorna Biggin (Cliff), Marion Ranton, and Doris Marsh (John), sister-in-law's Esther Gettler (Lloyd), Alice Bested (Robert) (Wilf), brother-in-law's Ken Ische (Althea) (Ila) and Jack St. Clair. The family would like to thank the many health care workers who have supported Reggie in the last 2 years. Family and friends are invited to Reg's visitation on Tuesday, May 24, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., and to his memorial service on Wednesday, May 25, at 11:00 a.m., at the W. G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron St, Stratford. Those who wish to join the family from their home can do so by clicking view livestream under Reg's obituary on the funeral home website. As expressions of sympathy memorial donations may be made to Waterloo Region Suicide Prevention Council www.wrspc.ca or Alzheimer Society of Waterloo-Wellington www.alzheimer.ca/ww/en through the funeral home. 519.271.7411 or www.wgyoungfuneralhome.com

Dear Doug, Julie and families. It is with sadness and sympathy I write this. Your dad´s influence on you has had a wonderful impact. He was a great guy and he lives on in both of you. It is a testament to his goodness. May you both take solace in the fact he has left a superb legacy. He will be missed.
