Reta Baechler

1921 - 2022

100, of Stratford passed away peacefully to her eternal home, with family by her side, at Rotary Hospice Stratford Perth on Thursday, October 27, 2022. She was born in South Easthope Township, Perth County on November 29, 1921 a daughter of the late Aaron and Barbara (Sommers) Schlegel. She was predeceased by her husband, Floyd Joseph Baechler on October 31, 1990. Reta is survived by her children, Barbara Kipfer (Lloyd), Sharon Robson, Elaine Yantzi (Gary), Keith Baechler (Beth); 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Merva Zehr. She was predeceased by her son-in-law, Rick Robson; her brothers, Wilfred (Emma), Alvin (Clara), Roy (Ruth), Earl (Florence); her sister, Ruth Kropf (Lorne); brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Wilmer (Frieda) Baechler, Elda (Wilfred) Roth and Earl Zehr. Reta was a founding member of Avon Mennonite Church. She enjoyed gardening, quilting and helping others. There will be a public memorial service on Saturday November 12, 2022, at 2 pm at East Zorra Mennonite Church 16th Line, Tavistock. A private family interment will have taken place.
