Reta May Lienhardt (nee Blank) was called by God from this life on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at the age of 93.
She is survived by her loving husband, Ralph, after 68 years of marriage.
They were blessed with three children, Michael, Paul and Joanne (Randy) Matters; six grandchildren: Mark (Wendy) Lienhardt, Jennette Lienhardt (Chad), and Candace Lienhardt (Toni); Christopher (Heather) Matters, Theresa (David) Gilbert and Jordan (Kerry) Matters, and she was also blessed with seven great-grandchildren: Trinity, Joseph and James Gilbert; Hannah and Jaxon Lienhardt; and Chase and Dax Matters.
Her two sisters, Rosanna Hubbert of London, ON and Leona Palinkas of Mount Pleasant also survive her.
Reta was predeceased by her parents, Philip and Rose Blank, and brother Xavier, Zigmund, Henry, Philip Jr., and sister Esther Durham.
Reta grew up in the Brantford-Woodstock area. After college, she worked as a secretary for a manufacturer in Woodstock. Later, she came to Kitchener and worked at B.F. Goodrich as a legal secretary. After the children were grown, she accepted a job at Wilfred Laurier University Press where she worked for fifteen years until retirement.
Reta was an active member of "Jesus, Light of the World" prayer community at St. Anne's Church in Kitchener for 33 years and an active member of Blessed Sacrament Parish for 30 years. She co-authored a meditation guide, "Living Your Life in the Spirit of God", and for five years was editor of "The Bread of Life Magazine".
Reta's family will receive relatives and friends from 2 - 4 p.m. & 6 - 8 p.m. on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at Blessed Sacrament Church, 305 Laurentian Drive, Kitchener. Interment at Woodland Cemetery. Reception to follow at Concordia Club, 429 Ottawa Street South, Kitchener.

The family would like to express our appreciation for the utmost care she received at Emma's at the Village of Winston Park. As well, the care she received at Grand River and St. Mary's Hospitals in recent years is much appreciated by her family.
