KNOWLES, Richard ""Rick"" Of Hope Bay, passed away suddenly at St. Mary's General Hospital, Kitchener, on Saturday, September 14, 2019. Richard Allan Knowles at the age of 64 years. Beloved husband of Joan Irvine (nee Hardy). Forever remembered by Joan's children, Michelle Irvine, Todd Irvine (partner Robyn Watt-Irvine), and Kelli Irvine (husband Bruce Zigman); and grandchildren, Elva, Opal, Flora, Westyn, and Riley. Cherished brother of Pat Carson (Jim); Gilbert, and John; dear uncle of Calen Carson and Jason (Monika) Knowles. Predeceased by his parents, Orland and Joyce. Rick was a devoted and loving husband. He was Grandpa Rick to five wide-eyed children who thought that he was larger than life. He was a fish farmer and owned a wholesale seafood business. He was fondly known as the 'Fishman' and was extremely well respected in the industry. Rick was an avid hunter sharing his knowledge and skills with others and keeping his hunting buddies in stitches with his stories, misadventures and ""Rickisms"". Family and friends were extremely important to him. He could be counted on under any circumstance. He loved to laugh, have fun and always looked forward to the celebrations and parties at Hope Bay. A celebration will be held next summer at Hope Bay to honour Rick in a style fitting to his zest for life. Details for 'Rickfest' will be shared as plans unfold. IN THE MEANTIME, ...
