Robert Cruickshank Obituary
Blaine passed away peacefully, surrounded by the unwavering love and support of his family, after a courageous battle with melanoma. He faced his diagnosis and cancer journey with the same positive outlook that he had throughout his life and for which he will always be remembered. He will forever be missed by Sue, his best friend and loving wife of 46 years, and their three devoted children, Beth (Ronnie), Scott (Jenna) and Matthew (Sarah). He was the beloved Papa of Jamie, Jonny, Henry, Charlie, Anna, William, Molly, Graham and Ryan. Blaine was the most enthusiastic and supportive grandparent, always first in the swimming pool and by their sides to build sandcastles and Lego structures. Blaine is survived by his mother Eileen and sister Karen (John) who will miss him dearly. He is predeceased by his father Robert, his in-laws Ralph and Betty Abercromby, his brother-in-law Bruce and his niece Ashley. He will be remembered fondly by his sister-in-law Carolyn (Rick) and his many nieces and nephews. Blaine was a dedicated family physician for 37 years whose compassion influenced the lives of countless patients. He was an avid traveller, always excited about exploring the world and planning the next big adventure with Sue. He was a passionate road cyclist and a long time member of Westmount Golf and Country Club. Blaine loved sharing experiences and laughs with their close group of friends. He lived his life with so much kindness and joy, and those who knew him were better for it. A private family service is planned with interment at Mount Hope Cemetery, Waterloo. Friends and family are invited to join us for a Celebration of Life at Westmount Golf and Country Club in Kitchener on October 2, 2022 from 3 - 6 p.m. Tributes will be shared at 4 p.m. Donations in Blaine's honour can be made to the Melanoma Research Fund at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. Just came across this obit
for Blaine and was shocked to know that he is gone. I knew in Owen Sound while in secondary school and later at Western. What a truly great guy he was. My condolences to his family.

Our family is very sad to hear of Dr Cruickshank's passing. He was our family physician from 1983 until he retired. We missed him so much when he retired! We were glad he was able to retire in good health. He always provided the best care , clinical and life advice.
We send our deepest sympathy to his family.
God bless him and family. So many good memories for so many.

My family and I are sending our deepest condolences to Dr Blaine Cruickshank's family and friends.
Dr Cruickshank was an amazing person and that made him an even better doctor. He was always kind, understanding, patient and sincere. Dr Cruickshank was like that of an earth angel because he helped heal so many who needed his help. My family and I will be forever grateful for having him as our family physician during his entire career.
God bless and rest in peace Dr Cruickshank.
