Robert JORDEN Obituary

JORDEN, Robert (Bob) Francis May 28, 1924 Stratford, ON - May 26, 2018 Kitchener, ON Bob leaves his true love Elsie, his daughter Shell Jorden and her husband Tom de Boer, his son Bob and his wife Val. A WWII Veteran, Bob served with the Merchant Navy. For three years after the war Bob remained on ships carrying cargo to devastated areas. After success in the Maritime Provinces he moved his family to Montreal and in 1970 returned to Kitchener where he later retired. Bob had happy memories of valued friendships and the numerous activities he enjoyed in retirement both locally and in Green Valley, AZ. Elsie joined him for hiking, lawn bowling and ice skating. He was passionate about playing hockey, baseball and billiards. We remember fondly the pool players on York St., the baseball players in Stratford, the members of the Navy Club, the Over The Hill Gang hockey guys and all Bob's friends who were patient and respectful to him as Parkinson's Disease slowly and insidiously reduced his abilities. Not forgotten Bob's inordinate sense of humor which had us in tears of laughter a great deal of the time. There will be a noticeable decline in the sales revenue for Heinz Ketchup. We were blessed with Bob's Personal Home Care Workers, Connie, Bonnie, Barb and Miranda and we thank them. We recognize and thank the delightful gals at Heritage House for their dedication. To the extraordinary staff at A.R. Goudie People Care; we thank you for your sensitivity, loyalty and compassion extended to Bob and to us, from the beginning through the end. Bob was appreciative of all who visited him during his years of decline and we thank you. This loving husband and father, too serious yet so funny, lived his life on ""the road less traveled"" with honor and integrity. He is and will always be, deeply missed.
