I’m not one to remember shared conversations but I remember the way I felt after a visit with Ron, and it was always a good feeling. He was a unique man, interested, interesting and supportive. While he was still running Alloy Castings I would drop by his office for a visit or we’d step out for a coffee next door. That meant a lot to me. I’m not sure how we met but probably through teaching Molly how to play the guitar.
Ron and Sue and there beautiful family have always held a special place in my heart.
I haven’t seen Ron often in recent years as they’d moved from the area but I did run into him a number years back in Kitchener. A brief encounter but as always it was good to connect. I’m thinking now that would have been the last time I saw him.
I only found out that Ron was ill this past Sunday evening on the 14th and while still processing this I heard the next day that he had passed away. To you Sue and to your whole family, I’m so sorry to hear of his lose. He was far too young. I loved seeing the family photos and the love and joy in those pictures.
Sincerely
John Wiebe

Ron was a true friend to so many organizations in the community. His legacy at Wilfrid Laurier University will be the room in the Lazaridis School of Business and Economics that he named to honour his parents, Joseph & Agnes Doyle. Students and faculty benefit from that room every day. My sincere condolences to his family and friends.

I only knew Ron for a few short months. We were working together on a campaign for A Better Tent City that will launch this Spring in the Kitchener-Waterloo Region. In that short time, his incredible generosity of spirit, time, and his dedication to championing those less fortunate came through loud and clear. I am saddened by his passing. I am also fueled by his vision and giving back to do even more to help those he helped. On behalf of the entire team at tiptap, RIP Ron.

Our friendship was going on for almost 20 years. In this time, I had the opportunity of sitting back and watch Ron do some incredible things. He has given so much to his community, his many friends and his family. His willpower and determination inspire me, and in my book, he is a legend.
May you rest in peace, I will make sure that you are not forgotten.

We are so sorry for your loss. Ron was a life force, he did not do anything half way. Rick and I knew Ron through the arts, which he cared about deeply and supported as much as he could. We met at Barrels Restaurant on Queen Street, through Fran and Tony, now those were the days! Rick also worked with Ron on a few of his various projects, he was a fantastic person to work for. He thought outside of the box and knew what it took to accomplish something worthwhile. Ron had big dreams. We need dreamers. He will be missed by so many people. To Sue and all Ron's family we send our love and care.

Ron was a community visionary that did so much to the benefit of many. His community gardens at the Hacienda Sarria are an exemplary exhibit of his charity. Every platitude I can possibly think of could be attributed to this beautiful soul. My heart breaks for his family, friends and our community. His passing is an enormous loss to all.
