Shirley Russwurm Obituary

Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 with her family by her side, at Barnswallow Place Care Community, Elmira, at the age of 86 years. A daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, loved and respected by many. Predeceased by her parents Gerald and Gladys Butt, her beloved husband Lynn Russwurm, daughters Yvonne and Lynda. She was a devoted wife and took an active role in all of Lynn's musical endeavours, a wonderful "nanny" and "super-nanny". As the president of the Barn Dance Historical Society, Shirley was instrumental in starting its museum. Memorial visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Monday, April 3, 2023 at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira. There will be no service. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated and may be made through the funeral home.
