Thomas Schaefer

It is with sadness we announce the passing of Tom Schaefer on Friday, May 19, 2023 at the age of 61. Beloved husband of Lori (nee Zettel) for 38 years. Loving father of Steven (Alex) and Eric. Cherished grandpa of Carter. Treasured son of Gracia and the late Richard. Dear brother of Judy (Christopher) Bisch. Will be missed by the Zettel family. Predeceased by siblings Tim, Danny and Wendy. Tom started working with his dad at Richard Schaefer and Son at a young age, eventually becoming the owner and operator. He continued to run the business for over 40 years in his home town of Bridgeport. Tom was an amazing, giving man that would do anything for anyone, with a great sense of humour. He is and will always be missed and loved by so many. Words cannot describe the devotion he had for his family and friends. Tom's family will receive relatives and friends from 2 - 6 p.m. on Monday, May 22, 2023 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Grand River Hospital Foundation - Cancer Centre, Hamilton General Hospital - Neurology or the Kitchener Waterloo Humane Society would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
