Uldis CELMINS

CELMINS, Uldis Passed away peacefully at Lisaard House, Cambridge on Tuesday, April 9, 2019, just five days before he was to celebrate his 70th birthday. Uldis is a son of the late Juris and Zenta Celmins. Loving Papa of Amber Celmins (Adam Schaaf) of New Hamburg and adored Opa of Eliana Schaaf. Dear brother of Aina Severn (Paul) of Whitby and Peter Celmins (Vija) of Rockwood. Also remembered by Mary Kanters and many family and friends. Uldis was predeceased by his daughter Victoria Celmins (1992). Uldis was an avid music fan, loving all kinds of genres but was especially fond of 50's and 60's rock and roll. He loved teaching math, which he did at Conestoga College, Wilfrid Laurier University and the University of Waterloo; which is where he graduated with his Bachelor of Mathematics, Masters of Mathematics and PhD in Combinatorics and Optimization. He worked for many years at Mutual Life/Sun Life in Waterloo prior to his retirement. Visitation at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home , 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg on Monday, April 15, 2019 from 5-8 p.m. A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Wayne Domm officiating. Cremation will follow with interment in Riverside Cemetery, New Hamburg.
