Werner BONGARTZ Obituary

Died peacefully at Grand River Hospital on April 3, 2023, just one month shy of his 93rd birthday. Survived by his loving wife Ursula, three daughters and their husbands: Brigitte and James Huber, Doris Bongartz and Richard Laforet, and Ingrid Bongartz and Jeff Joslin. Proud Opa to many grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Jessica and Ryan Wilhelm, their children Julia, Ethan, Isabel, and Zachary; Ryan and Sarah Huber, their children Kayleigh and Daniel; Amy Huber and Dane Cosley, their child Beau; Anita Huber; Derek Laforet; Nicholas Laforet; and Sophia Joslin. Werner and Ursula moved to KW from Germany shortly after their marriage in 1957, although he never lost his fondness for his home village, Merbeck. After a few years, they founded Pawer Limited, where Werner's intelligence, creativity and hard work paid off. His success in business allowed him to indulge his passion for Mercedes-Benz cars and to build his dream home. Werner was a great teller of stories and jokes, and reluctantly enjoyed travelling the world with his wife as long as his health allowed.Thank you to the PSWs who cared for him in recent years. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Henry Walser Funeral Home, Kitchener (519-749-8467). A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Opa, you will be dearly missed!
