William KUEPFER Obituary
KUEPFER, William Robert
Our loving husband, daddy, and Boppa suddenly passed from our lives to see His Pilot face to face on May 12, 2019. Born in the depression dustbowl in Kansas on February 18, 1934 to the late Jonathan and Leona (Follas) Kuepfer, Bill was a vibrant, strong, curious, witty and caring Renaissance man who lived life abundantly. Bill returned to school in 1966 at Malone College in Hartville, Ohio for his BA. He taught as a woodworking teacher in Parry Sound (2 years) and then at Waterloo Oxford until his retirement in 1997. Bill's life revolved around his family and faith. He married Catherine Nafziger August 24, 1957. He loved his girls (the 4 Cs), grandkids and great-grandbabies. A born teacher and irrepressible storyteller, Bill never stopped explaining and sharing his knowledge. He was a founding member of Bethel Conservative Mennonite where he contributed his teaching and musical skills. In later years, he has been a member of Grace Mennonite Brethren in Kitchener. His legacy lives on in his children Cathy and Darrel Wagler, Christine and Paul Tomblin, Cynthia and Mike Shrock. Grandfather of Lara and Dale Brubacher; Krista and Mike Gingrich; Brandon, Jana and Conrad Wagler; Jonathan and Ben Tomblin; Adam, Ava and William Shrock. Great-grandfather of Elliott Gingrich and Jack Brubacher. He is remembered by his siblings and in-laws Levi, John, Melvin, Henry (Mary), Sarah, Velma (Dannie) Gascho, Dorothy (Andy) Gascho, Susie (David) Huber, and in-laws Lillian Kuepfer and Ken Brenneman and his many nieces and nephews.
Bill was pre-deceased by his parents-in-law (Valentine and Christina Nafziger), and siblings Mary (Stan) Helmuth, Barbara Nau McNab, Aaron (Ruth), Joseph, Raymond, Laurene, Kelsey, Martha (Bernie) Schultz, and in-laws Marion (Arlan) Erb and Emmaline Brenneman. Bill benefited from expert medical care and made arrangements to have his body donated for medical research. The family invites you to join them at Faith Mennonite Church (1533 Chalmers Forrest Rd., Wellesley) to grieve and remember on May 21st 7-9 p.m., May 22nd 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. with a celebration of Bill's life and faith on May 23rd at 2 p.m. As expressions of sympathy, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
