It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Adele on June 18, 2022 at the age of 93. Predeceased by her parents Calogero and Ignazia Speziale of Racalmuto, Sicily, her husband and love of her life Anthony Capula, her son Joseph Capula, and siblings Pietro, Concettina and Carmelina. Survived by her children, Connie and Italo Falconio, Rose (Claudio - deceased) Iannone, grandchildren Melanie and Mark Giavedoni, Michael Iannone (Sarah), Diana and Michael Germanese, Phillip and Michelle Iannone, David Iannone (Sarah), Anthony and Diana Falconio, and Adam Iannone. She was affectionately known as "Grandma" by all of her grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren who were a ray of sunshine in her day. She is also survived by her sister Maria (Domenic-deceased) Valentini, cousin Carmelina (Angelo-deceased) Valentini as well as many nieces and nephews both in Canada and Italy. Adele lived for her family and was very active in the lives of her children and grandchildren. No one could make gnocchi and pizza like grandma could. She was known as a strong and independent woman who was widowed at a young age and worked hard to provide life and opportunity for her family. She was proud of her Sicilian heritage and was an equally proud Canadian. She was a woman of strong faith and was as fierce and vibrant as her natural red hair. Adele was happy, loved to sing in the kitchen and always had a joke or a one-liner ready. Now she is at peace and is reunited with her loving husband and son.
