BUTTERWECK, Albert Roy We sadly announce the passing of Albert Roy Butterweck, 81, on April 28, 2019, surrounded by family after a brave battle with cancer. Predeceased by his dear wife Margaret (nee Burchell), he will be greatly missed by his daughters, Coral Wichert (Dave (dec)), Susan Holmes (Larry) and Jennifer Butterweck, his grandchildren Heather Bamsey (Peter), Colin Bamsey (Gillian), Jackson and Rhys Tobey, and step- great-grandchildren Keira, Aiden and Brysen. He will be fondly missed by sisters-in-law Kay Grant (Gary (dec)) and Barbara Willson (George), and many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews both in Canada and Illinois. He is also predeceased by his parents Olivia and Albert Butterweck and sisters Hazel Butterweck, Dorothy Siebert (Leroy) and Arline Klinkhardt (Quentin). Al was born and raised in Waterloo, Illinois, USA. He served in the US Navy Airforce and was stationed in Bermuda where he met Margaret, a Canadian nurse. They raised their family in Hamilton where he worked for First Ontario Credit Union. Al was a member of Olivet United Church and the Hamilton Photography Club for many years. He was a kind, selfless, gentle man who would brighten your day with his great sense of humour. A Celebration of Life will be held at St John United Church, 195 East 38th St, at Queensdale, from 10 a.m.- 12 p.m. on Saturday, May 4th. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Cancer Assistance Program.
