It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Aldo Scala on April 2, 2022, in his 83rd year. He will be forever and deeply missed by his loving wife Maria (Giammarco) of 52 years. Cherished father of Nadia (Mark) Ciaglia, Rosanna (Joe) Pagliaro. Devoted Nonno to Nicholas, Olivia, and Antonio. Aldo is predeceased by his parents Luigi and Domenica Scala and his in-laws Michele and Concetta Giammarco. He will also be missed by the late Franco (Guiseppina) Scala, Rosina Scala, and Antoinetta (Carlo) Colatosti, Antoinetta (the late Gianni) Tosello, Lina (the late Pietro) Favotto, the late Emilio (Julie) Giammarco and Vincenza (the late Carlo) Menegon. He will also be sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews. Aldo immigrated to Canada when he was 26 and worked in construction as a bricklayer for almost 40 years. He was a kind, caring and hardworking man who devoted his life to his family. His passion was his garden. He will forever be missed. Special thanks to Dr. Mulji and the staff at the 4 west Cardiac unit, at the Hamilton General Hospital. Visitation will be held at Bay Gardens Funeral Home - "William J. Markey Chapel", 947 Rymal Road East, HAMILTON (905.574.0405) on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, from 5:00pm - 9:00pm. Funeral mass will be held at St. Luke's Church, 200 Mount Albion Road Hamilton, on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at 10:00am. Entombment to follow at Bayview Cemetery, Crematory & Mausoleum, Burlington. For those who are able to, the family is asking to please consider wearing a mask during visitation and funeral services. For those who wish, memorial donations made to the Heart and Stroke, Diabetes Association or McMaster Children's Hospital, would be appreciated.
