Alessandro Rastelli

It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of Alessandro Rastelli on Thursday, July 7, 2022, in his 95th year, surrounded by his family at St. Joseph's Hospital, Hamilton. Beloved husband for over 43 years of Lidia Rastelli (nee DiGiuseppe), predeceased December 26,1999. Loving father and father-in-law of Ivania Rastelli-Cino, Giuliana Rastelli (Rob Harvey), Tony Rastelli (Laura), Emilia Rastelli, Carm Rastelli (Mike Barbera). Cherished nonno of Michael (Sara), Catherine, Owen, Sarah, Jessica, Alexander, Lidia, Becca, Katie and cherished bisnonno to Julian. Predeceased by his parents, Antonio and Carmela Flammini Rastelli and in-laws Francesco and Diomirra Emilia DiGiuseppe. Dear Brother and brother-in-law of the late Lucia and Domenico Maltese, the late Amina and Vittorio D'Archangelo, the late Guido and Maria Rastelli, Maria and the late Gino Rastelli, the late Benita and Ettore Tavani, Giuseppina and the late Mario Rastelli and Ida and the late Attilio Di Diomede. The late Berardo and Madalena DiGiuseppe, the late Alfonso and Giuseppina DiGiuseppe, the late Gabriele DiGiuseppe, the late Oreste and Ida DiGiuseppe, the late Ernestina and Guerino Del Sordo, the late Rosina and Camillo Cardinale, the late Angiolina and Giustino DiBonaventura, Gentilina and the late Giovanni DiGiuseppe.
Alessandro will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
Born in Castellalto, P. Teramo, Italy, Alessandro was always proud of his garden and his many homemade meats. He came to Canada in 1955 and found work as a labourer with various construction companies and retired from Dufferin Construction. He loved working in his garden, winemaking, bocce, briscola and most importantly, his devotion and unconditional love for his family, who were always his first priority.
As per Alessandro's wishes, a private family Funeral Service has already taken place. Arrangements entrusted to Friscolanti Funeral Chapel.
