Peacefully, in his 99th year of life, Allan passed away at Joseph Brant Hospital in Burlington, on February 11, 2023. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Anne Elizabeth (nee Boyle) and loving son, Gerran Edward Ferrey. Allan leaves behind his daughter, Catherine Woodman (Don), and daughter-in-law, Margaret Chadwick. He was a devoted grandfather to Jessica and Megan Woodman, as well as Edward and Catherine Ferrey. Allan was predeceased by his brothers Jim and Russell Ferrey. He will be deeply missed by his extended friends and family. Allan was born and raised in Burlington, Ontario. He attended Virginia Military Institute. He was a Sales Engineer for Honeywell Controls. However, one of Allan's greatest accomplishments was that he was a World War II survivor and hero! Allan was a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force. He was a pilot and flew the aircraft, Typhoon! Allan purchased a cottage on Stony Lake, in the Kawarthas. Through his dedication, he tirelessly spent hours on upgrading the cottage to make it the family retreat it is today! Allan absolutely loved spending time at the cottage making memories with his family and friends. Two of his fondest memories were eating ice cream and butter tarts with his grandchildren. I would be remiss in not mentioning his love for a great barbeque on the deck overlooking Stony lake. A life well lived is a precious gift of hope, strength and grace. Allan was someone who made our world a brighter and better place! Interment and memorial service will be held in late Spring/early Summer 2023. Details will be given by a notice in the mail.
