Allan HARPER Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dad, Al, on February 11, 2023. Beloved husband and best friend of almost 59 years to the late Lois (nee Hannah, predeceased 2017). He was the much-loved father to his four children; Ken Harper (Brenda), Cheryl Heslop (Joe, predeceased 2022), Doug Harper, and Janet McEachern (Darcy). He will also be very much missed by his seven grandchildren who were the loves of his life and his biggest fans, Nicole Harper (Joel), Rachel Harper, Michelle Dueker (Brian), Jessie Heslop, Benjamin Harper, and Matthew and Jacob McEachern. He also leaves behind seven great-grandchildren. His support, love, and dedication to his family will leave a void but will forever be remembered and cherished by those who loved him. Friends and family are invited to the Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas on Thursday, February 16th with visitation from 12-1 and service at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations to the Alzheimer Society , Canadian Tire Jumpstart Program in recognition of his love of youth sports, or a Charity of Your Choice would be greatly appreciated by the family. I first remember Al when I was 10 years old and grew up watching him playing for the Dundas Merchants. He was like a buzzsaw out on the ice and was a fan favourite because he always gave 100% effort. That was true for all the activities throughout his life, whether it be in sports, work or family life and he did it all with a smile on his face. He loved life, that was obvious. Our paths crossed many times, in many ways over the years and my opinion of him never wavered; he was a man of honour and integrity who commanded our respect because of the way he treated people and the way he conducted himself throughout his life. The love that Al and Lois had for each other and their family always shone through and he will be greatly missed.
