Amadeu MADALENO Obituary

MADALENO, Amadeu João Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends at the Juravinski Hospital on May 2, 2018 at the age of 90. Beloved husband of Celestina for 63 years. Loving father of Manuel (Luisa) and Amelia (Carlos) Catarino. Cherished avô of Andreia, Rob (Laura), Mike, and Andy. Sadly missed by his sister Amelia and predeceased by his brother Manuel Augusto. Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends both in Canada and in Portugal. Amadeu immigrated to Canada from Portugal later in life to be close to his adult children and grandchildren whom he adored. Though involved in construction throughout his career, he later developed a love for gardening. Amadeu was kind, thoughtful, and anchored in family and his faith. Thank you to the staff at St. Peter's Residence at Chedoke for their excellent care and support. Additional thanks to the Alzheimer Society for their information and educational tools. Visitation at FRISCOLANTI FUNERAL CHAPEL, 43 Barton St. E. (near James) on Friday from 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. Vigil Prayers on Friday at 3:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Mary's Church on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Burlington. In kindness donations to the Alzheimer Society or St. Peter's At Chedoke would be greatly appreciated by the family.
