Andrew Leenders

Andrew Leenders passed away peacefully in his sleep at the age of 90 to join his wife Ann in heaven, who passed away this past August. He is survived by his children Diana Ersser (Tony), Debbie Ramsay (Allan) and Ron Leenders (Pam); nine grandchildren Jason, Stephanie, Kristen and Justin Ersser; Spencer, Stewart and Andrew Leenders; Thomas and Scott Ramsay; eight great grandchildren; siblings Liza Vermeulen, Joe Leenders, Gus Leenders, Eugene Leenders, Herman Leenders and Richard Leenders; and an extensive extended family including many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his sister Marie VanWerde and brother Albert Leenders.

Andrew was a dedicated father, brother, friend and community member. He was always willing to lend a hand to his neighbours, maintain the grounds at the church and host the annual church picnics. He worked at Ford for over 30 years and operated a farm, which he was passionate about. In his later years, Andrew was an avid bowler and put many miles on his bicycle - which he continued to ride until the spring of this past year. Many in the community will recall visits while he delivered his eggs or the wave as he rode around town. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 from 6 - 9 p.m. at KITCHING, STEEPE & LUDWIG FUNERAL HOME, 146 Mill St. N., Waterdown. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2023 starting at 11 a.m. at ST. THOMAS THE APOSTLE CHURCH, 715 Centre Rd., Waterdown followed with interment at St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery, Waterdown. Reception in the Church Hall. Donations, in lieu of flowers, to the Good Shephard Centres, Hamilton would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
