Anita Isaac-Miles Obituary

(1939-2020) It is with overwhelming sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Anita Louise Isaac- Miles on Wednesday, April 15, 2020. Born in the Caribbean island of St. Kitts she became an elementary school teacher just shortly before she moved to England in 1958. After graduating as a registered nurse in Manchester, U.K. she emigrated to Canada in 1964. After a stint in Niagara-on- the -Lake she relocated to Hamilton's Chedoke Hospital holding positions as Nursing Supervisor and later as Assistant Director of Nursing. During her tenure at Chedoke, she took time out to attend the University of Western Ontario, London, Ontario and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree. She finished her career as Manager of Resources and Development at Hamilton Health Sciences. Anita led a very active life serving as a member of the Board of Directors for Hamilton Health Services. She was a member of the Hamilton Zonta Club for Women. She faithfully served in various capacities in Stewart Memorial Church. Her hobbies included arts & crafts, especially her beautiful Japanese Banku embroidery creations. She was an avid gardener, and her Dahlias are a sight to behold. Left behind to mourn her loss are her husband, Winston, her son Ryan, her grandchildren Tristan and Miles, her vast family of siblings, nephews and nieces, cousins and a multitude of friends. She was caring, resourceful, meticulously organized, charitable and talented. Anita will be greatly missed.

She was a wonderful woman. A great friend of my parents, Eurona and Bill Evan's. She met my dad at Chedoke where they worked together. Through him she met my mom. She came to the funeral of both of my parents.. I am absolutely heartbroken to hear of her passing. The world has lost an amazing woman. Condolences to her family and friends.

Anita became a dear friend the day I met her at a Zonta event many years ago. Over the years, I have been blessed to have had the opportunity to benefit from her wisdom, share great lunches, career chats, and even a Summer blueberry trip. I will miss our relationship and those special moments. My deepest condolences to Winston and her family.

Anita was my friend for over sixty years and although we live in different parts of this country, we remained close. She was a very strong intelligent, caring woman. I will miss meeting her Downtown Toronto for lunch and
catching up on what is going on with family and work. Her Gardening skills was great and she had the most
amazing flowers. She was always busy in her Community. I am not very good at expressing my thoughts, all I
can say She was my very good friend and I will miss her dearly. My condolences to Winston ,Ryan and all the
family.

Anita was an amazing woman, mentor and friend. She was always available and ready to advocate for others. I recall the hours she spent at the bedside of more than one dying colleague, sharing her strength and warmth. She made the world a better place and will be missed. May her strength bring her family, Winston, Ryan, Tristan and Miles comfort during this difficult time.

What a tremendous loss for this lifetime. Whenever she would come to visit, it was such a joy to spend time with her. She was poised, eloquent, intelligent, thoughtful, helpful, generous, fun loving, and had a passion for health and gardening. I really loved talking with her. I am so sorry to Winston and her family for their loss. God bless them all at this time. She will be so very missed.

I remember Ms Isaac well from working at Chedoke. She was a lovely lady. I ran into her years later and she was so happy to know I remembered who she was even though we really didnt work same hours or areas - I was a young admitting clerk back then. Im so sorry for your loss. Shell be remembered well.

I am saddened to read of Anita's passing. We had occasion to work together while we were both members of Hamilton's Zonta 1 Club. Anita was focused and efficient, with just the loveliest sense of both humour and generosity. A loss indeed.

What a lovely soul she was. Her work for Our Saviour and King here on earth is now complete. It's now her time for retirement with the King himself, in Heaven.
