Anna Catherine EMERSON Charles Henry EMERSON (nee Gillmor) Anna passed suddenly on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 after suffering a medical emergency despite the heroic efforts of the emergency staff at St. Joseph's Hospital. While fighting for her life, she delivered her son Charles Henry. Staff at both St. Joe's and McMaster Children's hospital put in extraordinary efforts to help Charles, but he died on Friday, September 15th in the loving arms of his Aunt and Sister. Anna will be remembered as a Devoted Mother, a Loving Wife, a Loyal Friend and as a Respected Professional. She is grieved by three beautiful children; Grace (9), James (6), Kate (4) and her husband Howie. She leaves behind her father Allan, her late mother Susan, siblings Gillian, Mark, Monica, Christina, Charlotte, and her late brother Greg. She is also deeply missed by her father-in-law Don, mother-in-law Gwen, sister-in-law Cheri and brother-in-law Don. And so many, many others . . . . . Charles will be remembered as a beautiful flash of light that came to focus us on what is important in this world and to teach us to let go of what doesn't matter. He too is grieved by all, but the burden is heaviest on his Aunt Cheri and Sister Grace. Visitation at MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Monday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. with Vigil Prayers at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 128 Edgemont Street South, on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at 11 a.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
