Annette WILSON Obituary

(1940 - 2022)

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Annette Wilson, age 82. Loving and devoted wife of Matthew for 41 years, proud mother of Jennifer, mother-in-law of Scott, cherished grandmother of Justin, Jonathan, and Emily, and "the best aunt ever". Annette was born in Saskatchewan, and spent most of her life living and loving the Greater Toronto and Hamilton regions. Her greatest pleasure was being surrounded by her family, friends, and neighbours. She was grateful for all the love and support she received during her final days. A born leader, Annette enjoyed helping others, meeting new people, building meaningful relationships, and creating beautiful memories. Annette was a wonderful listener and loved sharing a good laugh. Sometimes referred to as a "Bagpipe Groupie" she followed her husband around the globe supporting the Canadian Legion 163 Pipe band, this included a visit to play directly for Queen Elizabeth II at Balmoral Castle, Scotland. She adored her many close circles of friends which included her Edmonton nursing pals, her Ancaster coffee club, writing club, bible study group, and St. Ann's prayer shawl ministry.
A devoted Catholic, her favourite bible verse was "This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it"; and, her favourite saying was "Faith is not knowing what the future holds, but Who holds the future."
The family will receive friends at the DODSWORTH & BROWN Funeral Home ANCASTER CHAPEL, 378 Wilson St. E., Ancaster. on Thursday, July 28, 2022 from 6-8 p.m. with Vigil Prayers at 7:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, July 29, 2022 at 10am from ST. ANN'S PARISH 11 Wilson St. W., Ancaster, Ont. (at Fiddlers Green Rd). Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Online condolences available at www.dbancaster.ca

Dear `Matt, Jennifer´ and family I just found out about Annette and send my belated yet deep condolences. Annette was like a second Mother to me and I will never forget her kindness and understanding. She was always so warm and welcoming. I´m glad I had her in my life for so many years and it seems like yesterday that she danced at my wedding with her beloved Matt. In loving memory, Helen L. Goly P.S. I´ll submit at least one photo as I know I have a few.
