Annie Godry Obituary

February 14, 1937 - March 22, 2022

Annie left this world peacefully, at home, on March 22, 2022. She was the most loving wife of Louis Godry. They shared nearly 61 years of marriage. Annie was the beloved Mom of John (Anita) and Louis (Jennifer). She was the adoring Granny to Annalyn, Hayden and Moira. She will be missed also by many nieces and nephews. Annie was born in Hamilton on February 14, 1937, to John and Rosie Milligan, the second of three wonderful daughters. Her sisters, Donna (2018) and Rosemary (2022) predeceased her. In 1957, Annie met the love of her life, Louis. They married in 1961 and enjoyed life with two incredible sons. There are not enough words to completely encapsulate Annie's larger-than-life personality. Besides being an adoring and loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Annie was an amazing cook, organized planner, extraordinary hostess, doting pet owner, great conversationalist, avid reader, caring sister, loving aunt, and faithful friend. She maintained contact with cherished friends across seven decades. Annie endured years of health problems but always maintained a positive outlook. As her health declined, PSWs were essential for her morning and nightly routines. She enjoyed the interactions with the genuinely caring and supportive PSWs. Enabling Annie's final days to be at home, as she wanted, was an amazing team of health care workers. We sincerely thank all PSWs, nurses and doctors for their commitment and care. Final arrangements are pending. They will be posted on the Smith's Funeral Home (Burlington) website.

Oh Colleen, oh Annie. Our Mom's were best friends! I loved watching and listening to the two of them. They would laugh so hard tears would roll down their cheeks. After our mother died Mrs Godry would call to check in. We always had something to chatt about. Always take okay Kathy. Always love you. Very special lady.

I grew up with Mrs. Godry being a close friend of my Mother's. Our families spent many dinners together and I fondly cherish those memories.
To Mr. Godry, John and Louie Jo (that's what we always called him) Anne and my Colleen are giggling together now.
