Antonio DiMillo Obituary

January 17, 1948 - July 22, 2022
Forte e Gentile come noi Abruzzesi

It is with great sadness that the family of Antonio DiMillo announces his passing in Hamilton, while visiting from Italy on July 22, 2022 in his 75th year after a short hospitalization at the General Hospital. Special thank you To Dr. Fox Robichaud and the ICU staff for their professional care.
Predeceased by his mother Angelina (nee D'Addario) 1968. Step mother Filomena (nee Piazza) 2014, and the Patriarch of the DiMillo Family his father Sante DiMillo - 2011 and two siblings he never met. Survived by his sons Marco and Matthew and his estranged wife Helen and his estranged son Joe. Antonio will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Marc-Anthony, Joshua, and Derek. Survived by his siblings Assunta, Francesco, and Anna Maria and their families which include many nieces and nephews. Antonio will be sadly missed by many cousins and friends in Roccamorice, Pescara, Italia.
As a young Immigrant to Canada who went from a hammer and a pouch to Developer / Builder and Entrepreneur, he lived life on his terms and retired to Italy to enjoy his remaining time in his homeland, in the heart of La Maiella Mountains of Abruzzo.
A Special thank you to the D'Alimonte Cousins and Antonio's siblings who showed their love for their cousin and brother bedside in his final moments. A most special thank you to Antonio's eldest sister Assunta (*Una Giovanetta vecchia*- as Antonio endearingly called her) who remained bedside until the final breath to comfort her brother and insist the medical staff do everything to ensure her big brother's passing was in comfort, without pain, and with dignity. True sibling love on display.
He will be remembered for his kind heart and big personality and his famous words all his friends and family know well, "Let's go for Lunch"
Visitation will be at Friscolanti Funeral Chapel (43 Barton Street East) on Tuesday August 2, 2022 from 2-4pm & 6-8pm. Memorial Service will be held at the Friscolanti Funeral Chapel (43 Barton Street East) on Wednesday August 3rd, 2022 at 11am with visitation starting at 10 am. Afterwards preparations will be made for his final resting place in Roccamorice, Italia.
In his memory hug a loved one, or take a friend out for lunch. Life is too short.
