Barka Mikulin

It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother Barka on January 18, 2022, in her 84th year. Pre-deceased by her beloved husband of 62 years, Branko. Most loved mother of Steve (Sally) and Zeljka Vrbanic (Miro). Loving baka of Adrianna (Chris), Angela (Lou), Nicole (Joe), Robert and Kristen. Barka was blessed to have eight great-grand-children, Jaxon, Mia, Jacob, Marco, Gabriella, Cassia, Chloe, and Claira. Pre-deceased by her parents Janko and Mara Zlataric and siblings Andrija, Josip and Franca. She will be sadly missed by her brother-in-law Dragan and his family, her best friends and in-laws, Marica and the late Josip Bermarija, and all other family, kumovi and friends in Canada and Croatia. Our sincere thanks to the wonderful staff at St. Joseph's Hospital during this difficult time. Due to COVID-19, all events are restricted to a specified number of attendees. Visitation will be held at Markey-Dermody Funeral Home, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, from 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. Vigil Prayers at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Cross Croatian Catholic Church, 1883 King Street East, Hamilton on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Holy Cross Church would be appreciated.
