Dear family
I was privileged to have known Bob for the past thirty plus years.
He was always a joy to me especially when he, Don Drury and I spent time together.
Please accept my condolences and I pray he has been reunited with his dear friend

Dear Joan and Family

Bob was a friend as a result of us both being common members of the local Liberal Party prior to him ever being elected.
After his first election I was delighted to discover what a hard working and dedicated M.P. he was to all levels of the constituency he served.

Especially as the Minister of Agriculture.
In that role at that time he handled the unimaginable problems the country faced in regard to the agricultural sector. In spite of the pressures this brought on to him he handled them with a commonsensical approach and with the utmost of sincerity. As a result he was well respected, liked and appreciated by the farmers of Canada.

While this was going on he never forgot the day to day issues his constituents´ faced and he and his office handled them all with grace.

We were fortunate to have the quality of representation,
Bob gave to the citizens of Haldimand-Norfolk-Brant and Canada while serving at home, in Ottawa and the world.

Bob set the bar as to what it takes to make an excellent Member of Parliament. He will always be remembered and missed.

My sincere sympathy.

Joan, Christopher, Victoria, and families, Flora and I want to pass along our sincere condolences with the shocking loss of Bob. I have so many wonderful memories of Bob, helping with his campaigns over the years, and of your lovely family, as the kids have grown into such wonderful young adults. Bob´s contributions to our communities were significant, and sometimes under appreciated as he continued to serve unselfishly in so many ways. It takes a special person to offer their time and services as a politician. He did it so well and for so long. He left his mark, and he will be missed. Thank you Bob.
