It is with profound sadness that we say goodbye to our dear Bonnie who passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2022, at St. Peter's Hospital.
Bonnie is the beloved spouse of Murray Ringrose with whom she celebrated 50 years of marriage in 2021. She is the dear sister and sister-in-law of Patrick and Mary Lachapelle and devoted aunt and godmother to Nicole Lachapelle (Kevin). She is predeceased by her parents Gerry and Dorothy Lachapelle and her grandparents Bernie and Bessie Gogo. Bonnie is survived by her in-laws Barbara McLaughlin, Donna Presley, Gail Millin (Jim), Brian Ringrose (Rita), Rick Ringrose (Diane) and Terry Ringrose (Barb). She is predeceased by Bob Ringrose and Sheila Ferguson.
Bonnie was born and raised in Hamilton's east end and attended Glendale Secondary School before her family moved to the east mountain. She graduated from The Hamilton Teachers' College in 1967 and became an elementary school teacher with the Board of Education for the City of Hamilton. For 33 years Bonnie held several different teaching positions at a variety of schools prior to retiring in 2000. Also, Bonnie was an active member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church (Our Lady of Lourdes site).
Bonnie and Murray loved to travel. They visited many locales throughout North America and Europe. Bonnie also enjoyed a great (or not so great) bottle of wine on any occasion. She was an avid reader, enjoyed riding her bike, visiting new restaurants and having a good conversation with friends and family.
Our family extends its thanks to Dr. A. Lalani at The Juravinski Cancer Centre and to Dr. A. Taniguchi, the nursing staff, social workers, occupational therapists, custodians, cleaners, food handlers and all the staff at St. Peter's Hospital who treated and assisted Bonnie during her illness. As well, we appreciate the support provided by Bonnie's family physician Dr. C. Glenny.
