It is with profound sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Bruno Assettino, at the age of 68. In the evening of Friday, September 2, 2022, surrounded by his entire family and close friends at home, Bruno's courageous battle against mesothelioma came to a peaceful end. Survived by his loving wife Cynthia (nee Poloni), daughter Sheena (Anthony) Scandinavo, son Christopher (Natalie) Assettino, and his parents Luigi and Angela-Livia Assettino. Bruno will be dearly missed by his grandchildren Livia, Vito and Remo Scandinavo, as well as baby Assettino on the way. Bruno was a cherished brother of Antonietta (Pierino) Di Paolo, Mirella (Val Moniz) Mancuso, Gina (Carm) Mauro and Sandra (Vince) Borrelli. Bruno will be forever remembered by his mother-in-law Mirella Poloni, sister-in-law's Linda (Paul) Antonucci, Lisa (Larry) Di Nicola, Debby and the late Kenny Berta, his many nieces and nephews, and his family members in Italy and Belgium. Predeceased by his father-in-law and dear friend, Ettore Poloni. Bruno was a kind soul who had a passion for helping those around him. He had an abundance of life-long friends whom he adored and always held close to his heart. Immigrating to Canada as a young boy, Bruno worked hard throughout his entire life. He served the City of Hamilton as a contract inspector for over 40 years. Bruno was happiest when hunting, riding his motorcycle and spending time with his family and friends, who can find comfort in knowing Bruno is now at peace. We will love you forever and always, Bruno, may your memory and caring spirit live forever.
