Camillo IANIERI Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Camillo Ianieri announces his passing at St Joseph's hospital on April 5th, 2023, in his 87th year. Camillo will be sadly missed by his wife of 58 years, Theresa, and his three children, Maria (Ianieri) & Jean-Michel Barray, grandchildren Angelique and Emma, Laura Ianieri and grandchild Siena, and Paul Ianieri & Christine, and grandchild Sam.
Predeceased by his loving parents Michele Ianieri and Maria Giordano. Camillo will be fondly remembered by his relatives in Italy. Loving brother Domenico and Giovina and his nephew Michele (deceased), Vincenzo (deceased) and Rosina and nephew Michele. Camillo was the loving son-in law to the late Sam and Florence Scime of Hamilton. Loving brother-in law to Charlie Scime (Shirley deceased), Francis Armstong, Joe Scime (deceased) and wife Cecil, Catherine Scime, and Joanne Paltridge (Jerry deceased).
Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and friends in Canada and Italy.
Camillo was born April 18th 1936 in Casoli, Italy. Camillo was an avid soccer player and made it to the professional ranks in Italy. In Canada Camillo continued his passion for soccer, in 1970 the Hamilton Italo-Canadian were coached by Camillo to the triple crown of soccer, winning the League Cup, Spectator Cup and the Ontario Cup amassing 16 straight wins. Camillo was proudly inducted into the Hamilton Soccer Hall of Fame in 2014 for coaching the champion Hamilton Italo Canadians.
Camillo's other passions were gardening, cooking, making his homemade wine, bocce, playing cards with friends and family and the love of his grandchildren.
Visitation at Dodsworth & Brown funeral home in Ancaster (378 Wilson St E) from 4pm to 7pm on Tuesday, April 11th. Funeral mass at St. Ann's Parish Ancaster on April 12th at 11am. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Ancaster. If so desired donations to The Kidney Foundation of Canada or Cystic Fibrosis Canada.
