At the Haldimand War Memorial Hospital, Dunnville on Sunday, January 23, 2022. Clair Packham of Dunnville at the age of 88, is survived by his wife of 67 years, the former Margaret Rose VanKuren. Dear father of seven children: Richard (Cathy) of Port Maitland, Harvey (Margaret Ann) of Dunnville, Aubrey (Lisa) of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Sharon Lane (John) of Dunnville, Linda Parker (Mel) of Canboro, Darlene VanderBeek (Jack) of Dunnville and Beverley Foisy (Don) of Dunnville. Dearly loved by sixteen grandchildren: Randy, Ken, Stephen, Jim, Christopher, David, Sandi, Jeffrey, Devin, Tammy, Adam, Tiffany, Alicia, Larissa, Kimberly and Michael. Also surviving are twenty-eight great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Predeceased by one great-great-grandson, Lyric. Born on the 27th of October 1933 on his grandparents' farm in Caistor Township, Clair was the first of five children of the late Glenn and May (nee Fralick) Packham. Brother of the late Frances LaLande (Al), Robert (Joanne, Marie Jenkins (Lyle) and Lyle (Marianna). Clair had a very industrious career that involved many endeavours, mainly farming, trucking and excavating. He retired from farming two years ago. The number of lives that Clair has touched both in his personal and professional life is truly remarkable. Friends may call at BALLARD MINOR FUNERAL HOME, 315 Broad Street East, Dunnville on Thursday, January 27, 2022 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. (Those wishing to attend the visitation must RSVP on the funeral home website. Masks and physical distancing are required when on funeral home property.) A private service will be held in the chapel on Friday, January 28 at 11 am. (For those unable to attend in person, the service will be livestreamed on the funeral home website.) Interment Riverside Cemetery, Dunnville at noon and all are welcome. Memorial donations to the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
