Claude HEBERT Obituary

HEBERT, Claude (Sr.) Passed unexpectedly at the Hamilton General Hospital on August 8, 2019 at the age of 70. Beloved husband of Jeannette (nee Lavigne), loving father of Claude Jr. (Tina), Julie and Mark (Yoko), and cherished grandfather of Kayla, Andrew, Alexis, Grayson, Ariana and Alexander. Brother to Aline (Maurice), Diane, Janine, Lise (Ed), Suzanne (John), and Linda (Rob). Claude is predeceased by his parents Remi and Yolande, and is fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Claude will also remain in the hearts of his many long-time friends and co-workers at National Steel Car where contributed nearly 47 years of service beginning as a welder and retiring as the Supervisor in the Welding Services department. Claude (a.k.a Big Claude) was an outdoors enthusiast who loved hunting and fishing, especially when accompanied by his "bums" (grandchildren). He also had a passion for vintage muscle cars and enjoyred spending his spare time restoring his '67 Chevelle SS. Claude genuinely enjoyed helping others and was always willing to lend a hand to those who needed it, often aiding family and friends by working on or rebuilding their vehicles. He was truly one of a kind. Longtime resident of Hamilton's East End. Claude was many things to many people. Whether husband, father, grandfather, neighbour, role model, father figure, he became a friend to everyone he met and will be very dearly missed. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, September 13, 2019 at the Knights Of Columbus Hall (222 Queenston Road, Hamilton) at 6 p.m. We will all miss Claude's gentle and jovial demeaner.
