Claudio Di PIETRO Obituary

And with your last breath our lives are changed forever. On December 13, 2020, at the age of 68, after a long battle with cancer, Claudio took off his armour in exchange for wings. Claudio came to Canada when he was 17, and it was here that he met and married the love of his life Sabina, who truly adored him. In their 44 years of marriage, they made a beautiful life with one another and their two daughters. He loved his girls with all his heart and shared this same love for his son-in-law whom he considered a son. Melissa and Chris Camilleri, and Julia Di Pietro have endless love for their dad. Claudio was THE BEST NONNO to his three little angels Nico, Emilia, and Mateo, who will miss their Nonno incredibly but will remember him forever. Claudio is pre-deceased by his parents Luciano and Secondina Di Pietro and survived by his dad and mom Fernando and Giuliana Palmieri. He was also very fortunate to have so many brothers and sisters that loved him dearly, Maurizio (Angelina) Di Pietro, Domenico (Maria), late Tonino (Matilda) Di Pietro, Giuliana (late Umberto) Capelli, Erminio (Giovana) Di Pietro, Silvana (Giancarlo) Billotti, late Leonida (Amalia) Di Pietro, Aladino Di Pietro, late Valerio (Anna Maria) Di Pietro, late stepbrother Luigi and late stepsister Rosa. He also had a special bond with his sister-in-laws Rita Palmieri (John) and Sandra (Nick) Bruccoleri. Claudio will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews in Canada, Italy, and Switzerland as well as all of his special friends. We want to give a special thank you to his frontline team of doctors and nurses from St. Joseph's Healthcare and Juravinski Cancer Centre. In lieu of flowers our family asks that you pay it forward and perform an act of kindness in Claudio's honour. Let's raise a glass of cognac and remember this remarkable man.
