December 15th, 1978 - November 11th, 2021
It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the loss of our son Courtney M. Rousseaux. He passed away on November 11, 2021. Courtney was born in Burlington at the Joseph Brant Hospital and happily grew up there. Courtney lived a busy life; attending Bruce T. Lindley, M.M Robinson and Brock University. He was involved in Scouts Canada, through the 31st Burlington Group, and achieved the honour of being named Queen's Scout. Court loved sports and played baseball through BOMBA. He became a very patient umpire with that organization, which he still today, through the business, helped to support. He was an avid skier, earning his Alpine level at ski school in Banff with his brother Justin. Courtney was an avid SCUBA diver with his wife and dive friends. His love for the outdoors always brought a smile to his face, whether it was off-roading with the gang, or camping with his wife and two daughters. Courtney also worked for the City of Burlington as a camp counselor, helping children with special needs (his nickname was Merlin and some people who know him still call him that). Courtney was the General Manager of Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow Tax Services Inc. and Operations Manager for Today and Tomorrow Financial Planning Inc. One of his colleagues said on hearing of his passing, "His brightly coloured golf shirts and his unmistakable laugh will be missed." Courtney was a proud member of the Grimsby Fire Department, an active member of the Grimsby Firefighters Association. During dinner at his parents' house, his alarm went off and his child summed it up nicely, "Daddy has to go and save people now." Courtney's passing on Remembrance Day brings back a memory of Courtney winning the Public School Remembrance Day poster competition. At the age of 8 years old his poster was sent to Ottawa for the National Remembrance Day competition. His poster was selected as one of the finalists, and received a cheque from the Veterans Association. His poster was hung for display in the National War Museum. Courtney leaves behind his wife Adrienne (nee Dale) and two children, his brother Justin Rousseaux (Kayla), and his mother and father Ron and Joy Rousseaux. Countless friends and family members will mourn his passing (no Mike we didn't forget you). Visitation at STONEHOUSE-WHITCOMB FUNERAL HOME, 11 Mountain Street, GRIMSBY (905-945-2755) on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Private family services will take place. In accordance with provincial regulations, there is a limit to the number of visitors who may attend at one time. Please RSVP in advance for the visitation on Courtney's Memorial page at
www.smithsfh.com. If desired, memorial contributions to the Grimsby Firefighter's Association would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
Be at peace Courtney, we all love you.
