To the family of Dave French. Please accept my sincerest condolences for your loss. Dave was a dear and sweet friend of mine and my family's in the 60's when he was in the Navy in Halifax. He would always visit my uncle's store on Gottingen Street - I worked behind the counter. A couple months ago, after all these many long years and out of the blue, I started thinking about him and haven't been able to shake the image. I attributed it to my own old age and memories that rise to the surface in one's twilight years. Also, that same feeling led me to look on the internet, where I saw his obituary. I remember visiting Hamilton once, and he taught me how to roller skate - first and last time. I was also invited to eat with his parents there - first time tasting cauliflower with cheese sauce - so good! I remember his telling me he was a pipefitter or steamfitter - still don't know what that is. I smile with tears as I reminisce on these few memories, though it breaks my heart, as I know all of yours are. I may have just one photo left with Dave in it. If so, would you like to have it? Again, I'm so very sorry for your loss.
