David NEGUS Obituary

NEGUS, David Albert August 8,1944 - September 6, 2017 After a stoic battle with ALS, David Negus peacefully passed away at the Juravinski Hospital on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 in his 74th year. He was surrounded by his family and was very well cared for by the ER staff. Beloved husband of Jacqueline (Jackie) for 46 years, who bravely fought beside him throughout his illness, David will live forever in the hearts of his family and friends. Adored father of Melissa (Paul) and Kyle (Danielle), and cherished Grandpa to Claire, William, Aria and Soren. Predeceased by his parents Alfred and Alice. David enjoyed a long career as an elementary teacher for the Hamilton Wentworth District School Board. In his retirement, he loved being captain of his boat ""School's Out"". Later, he was a founding member of the Hamilton Corvette Club. He was a long time member of Field Hockey Ontario, and ""Coach Negus"" will be fondly remembered by the Saint Mary girls' field hockey team. Cremation has taken place, and there will be a memorial visitation on Tuesday, September 12th from 6-9 p.m. at Bay Gardens Funeral Home ""William J. Markey Chapel"" at 947 Rymal Rd E, Hamilton. On Wednesday, September 13th, a celebration of life will begin at 11:00 a.m. with a reception to follow. If desired, donations to the ALS Society of Canada to help find a cure for this terrible disease would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
